About me
Hi and welcome to my website!
My name is Emanuele Pierobon, but everybody knows me as Piero, my nickname. I am Italian, living in Spain since 2003 and I am a lover of illustration, drawing and painting.
Here you will find a sample of the different kind of works I have done over the last 30 years. They go from pure illustrations to big size paintings, passing through face and body paintings, logos, tattoos, hand painted T-shirts…and so on.
I come from a very small village in the Dolomites, the most beautiful mountains of the Italian Alps. I grew up there being immersed in the nature which has always been a huge source of inspiration to me.
I loved drawings since I was a little boy, but my first chance to improve my skills came later, when I attended the Art School of the enchanting town of Vittorio Veneto.
After obtaining my diploma in graphics & print arts I moved to Venice where I studied urban planning at the university (yes, I am a planner too…). It was thanks to those studies that I started one my most ambitious projects: The Invisible Cities.
This is a collection of paintings that was inspired by the homonymous book of the Italian writer Italo Calvino, which was in the bibliography of one of my subjects. I literally fell in love with that book and started to illustrate its amazing stories, and 30 years later I am still doing it.
My art is very often inspired by the word in all its creative manifestations: literature, poems, songs… dreams and visions are what stimulates my imagination, often in search for a story to tell with pencils and brushes. Watercolours are my favourite technique, though I don’t mind to experiment with other materials.
Have a look at my work and feel free to contact me if you are interested in purchasing any piece.
